Northern Illinois University (DeKalb, Illinois), Division of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management, is accepting applications for the position of Director, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) Resource Center.
College/Division: Student Affairs
Salary: Commensurate with experience.
Master's Degree in education, higher education/college student personnel, counseling, LGBT/gender/women's studies, sociology, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of three years full-time administrative experience in higher education as an assistant, associate, or director of LGBT resource center or comparable position/experience; two years of experience with LGBT programs and services; supervision, training/workshop development and implementation skills, all preferably in a university setting; budgetary and assessment experience, fundraising and development, demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations, and commitment to university-wide community involvement.
Provide leadership for the on-campus LGBT Resource Center. Develop, support, and oversee programming and services related to recruitment and retention of LGBT students, faculty, and staff; enhance an inclusive campus community; engage in outreach activities; seek new resources through fundraising opportunities and gift giving; develop and promote program initiatives that enhance the undergraduate and graduate experiences of LGBT students; and lead the department in meeting the division's mission, vision, and core values. Oversee fiscal and personnel operations.
