Welcome to the Consortium of Higher Education Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Resource Professionals! The combined vision and mission of the Consortium is to achieve higher education environments in which lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students, faculty, staff, administrators, and alumni have equity in every respect. Our goals are to support colleagues and develop curriculum to professionally enhance this work; to seek climate improvement on campuses; and to advocate for policy change, program development, and establishment of LGBT Office/Centers.
We were officially born at the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force's Creating Change Conference in San Diego (November, 1997), but had already been working together on an informal basis for several years. In 2008, we changed our name from the National Consortium of Directors of LGBT Resources in Higher Education to better reflect our membership and mission. Click here to learn more of our history!
We hold our annual meeting at the NGLTF Creating Change Conference, when we also host an LGBT College Administrators Pre-Conference Institute. We also host gatherings at the annual ACPA and NASPA conferences, and support regional meetings for our members.
The Directors of the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) have approved the Consortium as an associate member organization.
We encourage staff, faculty, and graduate students working with LGBT issues on a college or university campus to become a member of the Consortium. As a member, you join a community of over 300 people on our Listserv and gain access to members-only web resources and our Mentoring Program, Internship Program, etc.
We invite you to explore the resources on this web site. Please contact a member of the Executive Board with your comments or questions.
