Amit currently serves as the Co-chair of the Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals, and as the Associate Director of the LGBT Resource Center at Syracuse University. Amit holds a Master's Degree in College Student Personnel and is currently working on his doctorate in Higher Education. His dissertation focuses on the intersection of race, class, gender and sexual orientation for LGBT students of color on college campuses. Amit has worked professionally in Residence Life, Disability Services, LGBT Resources, and Orientation on different college campuses. He has also taught courses in Women's Studies, Sociology, LGBT Studies and College Success seminars. In his spare time, Amit serves as a consultant and speaker on a range of diversity issues, and he has been a featured speaker at many different types of higher education institutions including University of South Florida, Union College, Utica College, Ithaca College and SUNY Cortland.
