Hey there, the Spectrum Center at the University of Michigan is currently evaluating different gender-neutral / -inclusive terms for our alumni. This will include quite a few conversations with these alumni and people on the University side that work with them, so we'd like to come with a strong suggestion and reasoning of why we chose the alternative we did. We're currently looking at Alumnx and Alum, but we're open to other ideas.
Does anyone currently have a non-gendered term for alumni that is in common use? Why did you pick it? If you considered it but didn't change to a different term, why not? Any insight is welcome!
