Award for Distinguished Achievement in the Profession

The Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals is proud to announce that we have created an Award for Distinguished Achievement in the Profession Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals.

The award for distinguished achievement in the profession recognizes and honors individuals whose work has attained preeminence in lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender services and programs in higher education. This work includes areas related to practice and policy, research and theory, as well as programs and service. The work exemplifies the profession, and is represented by a broad scope of activities and accomplishments.

We will present this award at Creating Change every year.

In general, exceptional nominees for the Award for Distinguished Achievement in the Profession exhibit:

  • a broad scope of accomplishments related to practice and policy, research and theory, and programs and services
  • documentation of attained recognition and preeminence in the field
  • accomplishments with clear connections to CAS standards, ACPA and NASPA Professional Competencies
  • exemplary work at the intersection of multiple identities
If you would like to nominate someone:

The nominator should submit the following materials in support of this nomination:
  • a cover sheet/email indicating the below basic information
  • a copy of the Nominee’s Curricula Vitae and/or resume
  • a nomination letter, written by the nominator (no longer than 2 single-spaced pages)
  • no more than two letters of support (no longer than 2 single-spaced pages)
