Consortium Summer 2016 Institute Proposal

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

October 10, 2015

New York, N.Y. – The Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals is seeking proposals for the Consortium Summer 2016 Institute and Board Retreat. Since 2009, the Consortium board has hosted a summer planning retreat at different campuses across the U.S. including University of Wisconsin-Madison and University at Albany-SUNY. As a benefit to the retreat site, we have also hosted a day-long summer institute for higher education professionals.

We are pleased to announce the Consortium’s invitation for proposals to host the 2016 Summer Board Retreat and Day-Long Institute! Your campus could host a professional development opportunity for your region. Since the retreat travels, we would like to take the retreat and institute to a new location where it can benefit our members.

In the 2016 Institute Proposal document, you will find descriptions of the Institute, the Retreat and the partnership between the hosting institution and the Consortium. The detailed proposal form (pgs 4 - 7 of the attachment) includes an opportunity to outline proposed dates, venue(s), logistics and much more. Consider inviting the Consortium board to your campus in Summer 2016. The deadline for proposals is Monday, November 23, 2015! What questions do you have? Please contact D.A. Dirks and Matt Bruno for questions or more information.

The combined vision and mission of the Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals is to achieve higher education environments in which lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students, faculty, staff, administrators, and alumni have equity in every respect. Our goals are to support colleagues and develop curriculum to professionally enhance this work; to seek climate improvement on campuses; and to advocate for policy change, program development, and establishment of LGBT Offices/Centers.
