climate indicators to consider when choosing a program.

website has created an extensive bibliography of books and
a few articles addressing GLB issues: with special attention

Since we are unaware of any campuses which have an established
degree program in LGBT studies, this is certainly a terrific

This is the first & only
university-based research center in the US dedicated to the
study of historical, cultural, and political issues of vital
concern to LGBT individuals. They are also collecting syllabi
for lesbigay/queer studies courses. By sponsoring public programs
and conferences, offering fellowships to scholars, and functioning
as a conduit of information, CLAGS is a national center for
promotion of scholarship that fosters social change. CLAGS
makes its home at the Graduate School and University Center

for the Study of Sexual Minorities in the Military
|
Based at University of California
Santa Barbara, the Center's purpose is to create, expand,
and institutionalize resources for graduate students and junior
and independent scholars who do not have access to resources
that their more senior colleagues often enjoy. They offer
Graduate Student Travel Grants to help students present completed
studies on sexuality at professional conferences, grants to
faculty for revision or development of undergraduate syllabi
that address sexuality and the military and small grants to
scholars who need general research support for projects related
to sexuality and the military.

and Research Foundation, whose members were concerned gay
history was being forgotten.

Founded in 1981 in Chicago,
Gerber/Hart Library is the Midwest's largest gay, lesbian
and bisexual circulating library, archives and resource center.
In addition to their collections, Gerber/Hart is a vital community
resource offering a wide range of cultural and educational
programs aimed at the goal of dispelling homophobia through
knowledge.

The collections assembled by
this London-based archive are a resource for the study of
gay activism in Britain following the publication of the Wolfenden
Report in 1958. The archive was closed in 1989 and the collections
distributed to three sites.

Materials in the Center
include a core reference collection, non-circulating new and
historical books, current issues of over two-dozen periodicals,

At the One Institute International
Gay and Lesbian Archives in LA, this site is edited and maintained
by Yolanda Retter, MLS, Lesbian historian and ONE Institute
librarian. Their goal is to locate, gather, organize, preserve

place and location, that are specific to or related to lesbian
history, with special commitment to gather lesbians of color
materials and images of lesbian history.

Jean-Nickolaus Tretter Collection in Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual
& Transgender Studies.

The U.
of Minnesota Libraries agreed to accept Jean-Nickolaus
Tretter's donation of his collection in gay, lesbian, bisexual
and transgender (GLBT) Studies. The collection will be housed
by the Libraries in a yet to be determined location. The University
has agreed to accept the collection in its entirety and provide
for its preservation, conservation and accessibility to scholars
and the GLBT community at large. Tretter has a collection
larger than any other libraries or archives in the area. He
has collected GLBT materials since 1972 and has accumulated
over 10,000 items including books, buttons, political banners,
t-shirts, photos and documents.

of Western Ontario's Research Facility for Lesbian and Gay
Studies

This facility was
established in November, 1997 to promote and advance interdisciplinary
scholarship in this field. It combines the Pride

has been a strong voice within ACPA since 1985. Its work
includes a Domestic Partners Project and a National Resource
Clearinghouse plus efforts to educate the general membership
of ACPA to increase their awareness of issues facing LGBT
persons; to work to eliminate overt and covert oppression
of LGBT persons within ACPA and on college and university

The Society for
