Student Program Coordinator Agencies

Advise two or more of the Florida State University SGA Agencies (Black Student Union, Hispanic Latino Student Union, Women Student Union, Veteran Student Union, Asian American Student Union) and leadership development institutes including meeting with leaders, attending events, and assisting in developing in achieving goals. Serve as part of the SGA advising team and work with student leaders in various organizations. Attend meetings and programs, and support initiatives.

Serve on the advising and professional staff team for the Florida State University SGA. Attend SGA entity sponsored programs; establish connections with students, have overall knowledge of SGA and FSU. Interpret, apply, and ensure compliance with Student Body Statutes, the Florida Administrative Code, State of Florida Statutes and Laws, and the rules and regulations of the Florida State University for all student organizations. Participate in departmental initiatives and practices, including staff training, graduate intern supervision, and student employment management.

Serve on University-wide committees, particularly regarding large-scale SGA programs such as Awareness Months, Healthy Campus initiatives, Hazing Prevention, Green Dot, and collaborative programs. Plan, attend, assess and coordinate events as a committee member. Collaborate with outside departments, establishing and maintaining strong working relationships and providing understands for the department.

Support and coordinate departmental assessment initiatives with agencies and bureaus, connecting outcomes to divisional and institutional goals and managing the development of assessment and evaluation tools for programs and services.

Oversee and implement programs in the areas of leadership development, identity development, multicultural competence, and fiscal responsibility and event management.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Higher Education Student A airs or related field, experience working with student organizations, identity-based groups, and on a college campus is strongly preferred. Knowledge and understanding of the basic levels of ACPA/NASPA core competencies.

The Student Government Association at Florida State University provides FSU students with representation, services and advocacy within the university structure. The Student Government Association provides quality leadership for, and accountability to its constituency by recognizing the strength that arises from diversity, engagement, and dialogue.

SGA is currently a part of the Union renovation project with plans to move into a new Student Union with expansive student engagement space in Fall 2020. SGA’s Black Student Union recently opened a state of the art, two-story building replacing their previous house, with opportunities for programming and academic collaboration.
