Major/Essential Functions

Manages and directs the day to day operations of a research center/institute or medium sized department.

Plans, coordinates and supervises the operation and activities of the center/institute/department.

Develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks and sets priorities.

As a senior member of DDEI, the Senior Director will: develop programs, services, collaborative partnerships and activities based on the DDEI’s mission and goals; identify and present strategies to achieve or exceed objectives; and, assist with the development of long- and short-range goals ensuring strategies have aligned with implementation plans. The Senior Director will work with the DDEI Vice President in leading the Division with strategic planning efforts, data-driven decisions, iterative assessment and evaluation, and analyzation of data as it pertains to student retention. The Senior Director will further provide recommendations for increased impact and program effectiveness.

A major responsibility of the Senior Director will be to develop and maintain relationships with TTU’s internal and external partners to provide high quality deliverables. The Senior Director will build rapport and credibility with faculty and staff to engage in training, professional development, and key partnerships in alignment with TTU’s mission. The Senior Director will serve on and lead multiple collaborative planning committees and/or task teams involving students, faculty, and staff to support and promote university-wide efforts and actively partner with key university and community resources to coordinate and collaborate on the DDEI’s program development.

The Senior Director is also responsible for: budget development and oversight; review of fiscal accounts; ensuring the accuracy and compliance with policy and guidelines; and preparation of fiscal reports. As requested, the Senior Director will represent the Vice President and the DDEI on university committees, task teams, and work groups and may represent or act on behalf of the Vice President.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required, master's preferred; Six years progressively responsible management experience. Additional education beyond Bachelor's may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate in Education, Counseling, or related field from an accredited college/university;
Experience working with TRIO eligible student populations;
Experience in the areas of staff supervision, budget management, program development and evaluation, and reporting and compliance; Proficiency in Microsoft, Excel, and PowerPoint;
Experience working with and advising student councils and organizations to include cultural, social, academic, and Greek affiliated groups.
Experience working with senior level administration
Experience with successfully securing grant and proposal funding;
Experience in an office environment, including scheduling, task and project management, record keeping, staff supervision, and customer service; and
Proficiency in Microsoft, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience working with diverse student groups is highly desirable.

Minimum Hire Rate - $5298.75
