The Coordinator of Student Activities directly contributes to the creation of a lively, diverse, and engaging social experience and programs for students at Delaware Valley University. This role reports to the Assistant Dean of Students/Director of Student Involvement and coordinates, manages, and participates in student activities and partners with students and organizations to create and sustain vibrant campus life at the University. Through their work, the Coordinator encourages student involvement and university engagement through programming and events for students.

This position requires creativity, initiative, and follow through, while working collaboratively with others in the department and in the Division of Student Affairs. The ability to organize and balance multiple initiatives simultaneously, skill with promotion and social media marketing, and a desire to facilitate diverse student interests will be a key to success.

Due to the nature of this role, the Coordinator of Student Activities is required to work non-traditional and weekend hours.

Duties
· Develop and implement an innovative and diverse schedule of programs and events with attention to weekends
· Foster inclusive excellence through planning and implementation of diverse programs, activities, trips, and excursions based on student body needs
· Advise the Student Programming Board
· Coordinate the Late Night Levin program
· Advise students in program planning and implementation with on-call event support as needed
· Develop and conduct needs assessments to determine campus programming needs; plan and implement programs and events that meet identified needs and established goals
· Regularly review campus calendar to determine if there are times during the semester where campus activities are needed to bolster student engagement
· Creatively market and promote programs and events throughout the academic year to engage and connect students at the university
· Interface with outside booking agents and other entities in partnership with student organization leadership
· Assist with priority department and division events including but not limited to Orientation, Welcome Weekend, Homecoming, Commencement, etc.
· Partner with Residence Life to create opportunities for residential programs and student involvement
· Manage budgets, expenses, and contracts related to student activities and initiatives.
· Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
· Master's degree in a related field (Higher Education, Student Affairs/Personnel, or Counseling)
· Bachelor’s degree with 1 to 3 years of relevant experience may be considered
· A positive record of accomplishment for planning, coordinating, and implementing a variety of events, both large and small
· Ability to work with students to achieve motivated buy-in for a vibrant student culture
· Understand and articulate the role an engaging campus life experience plays in fostering student satisfaction and retention
· Demonstrated success in building positive working relationships with all campus constituents
· Knowledge of and skill in budgeting, event planning, and event logistics
