The Pennsylvania State University, Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), University Park, PA has a Psychologist position available beginning August 6, 2019. Duties include: providing individual and group psychotherapy, initial consultations and triage, outreach and consultation, clinical supervision to trainees, crisis intervention, and coordination of sexual and gender diverse focused (i.e. LGBTQ+ communities) services at CAPS. Coordinative responsibilities will include collaborative care for transgender and gender diverse students, serving as the liaison to the LGBTQA Student Resource Center (http://studentaffairs.psu.edu/lgbtqa), and training of staff related to clinical considerations in working with clients identifying as sexually and/or gender diverse. The successful candidate will have substantial experience and expertise in LGBTQ+ focused services, experience training other professionals, and proven effectiveness collaborating with campus/community partners/stakeholders regarding the mental health needs of students who identify as sexually and/or gender diverse. Recognizing the unique needs of sexual and/or gender diverse communities, it is preferred that candidates have a strong commitment to social justice and are able to navigate the multiple layers of identity that students experience, including, but not limited to, race, ethnicity, nationality, class, disability, religion, sexuality, and gender. Typically requires a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. APA accredited training/internship and counseling center experience preferred. A one-year, full-time doctoral internship in Professional Psychology or Health Service Psychology is required.
