Position Summary:
-Assist in developing and implementing strategic initiatives, student and campus outreach, assessment, follow-through, and programmatic opportunities for the student population for the Women’s and Pride Centers.
-Develop and enhance a culture of inclusion, appreciation, understanding and support for both the female and LGBTQIA community at Slippery Rock University.
-Partner with academic program presidential commissions, student groups, and Title IX coordinator to serve as a resource, support and champion for equality where female and LGBTQIA students may be impacted.
-Provide referrals to students, faculty, staff and campus community on sexual orientation and gender-related issues.
-Design, implement, and assess co-curricular programming that promotes the safety, equity, and intellectual empowerment of women.
-Develop and implement a comprehensive array of campus-wide programming related to the overall success, appreciation and integration of the female and LGBTQIA populations.
-Cultivate relationships and outreach opportunities to increase student, faculty, staff and community engagement in gender identity, sexual orientation educational initiatives, policy development and advocacy.
-Generate reports and provide recommendations based on student learning outcomes of programmatic and other larger initiatives related to the Women’s and Pride Centers.
-Provide leadership in the development of student leadership initiatives, including advising student organizations related to gender and sexual orientation and fostering student learning and development by serving as a mentor, student advocate and educator.
-Develop, implement and coordinate programs and activities, and other events, in conjunction with student organizations, other university departments and community partners.
-Assist in the development of brochures, web pages, social media etc. used to promote diversity.
-Serve as a campus contact for the PASSHE Women’s Consortium.
-Serve as an ex-officio member of the President’s Commissions on the Status of Women and Gender Identity Expression and Sexual Orientation (GIESO).
-Perform other SRU related duties as assigned by the Director of the Office for Inclusive Excellence.
