THIS IS AN 11-MONTH TERM-LIMITED POSITION.

Located 36 miles east of Atlanta on Emory’s original campus Oxford College invites applications for the position of Diversity Coordinator.



Job Details:

The Diversity Coordinator at Oxford College of Emory University is responsible for the administration and programming of diversity initiatives for a campus of approximately 950 first- and second-year students.
  • Works to enhance the educational mission of Oxford by providing programming, resources and support services addressing matters of diversity and cultural understanding.
  • Proposes, develops, and implements programs designed to increase the participation and engagement of diverse students in college-wide events, cultural celebrations and observations, and diversity programming while, when appropriate, connecting to the academic disciplines.
  • Develops and delivers support programming for historically marginalized student populations, especially first-generation, low-income, racial/ethnic minority students, LGBTQ students and allies, and women.
  • Develops and manages a budget and other college funds devoted to diversity programming.
  • Serves as a Chair for the Inclusive Curriculum Committee and as the Oxford representative on the Social Justice & Race Commission for Emory University to ensure greater cross-campus integration.
  • Advises We Are Oxford, a student organization dedicated to campus-wide diversity programming and an annual retreat.
  • Serves as a resource to student organizations that represent diverse student populations. Partners with and advises other Campus Life staff and other college departments to offer comprehensive diversity training and information. Serves as a liaison for relevant programs and services between the Atlanta and Oxford campus (such as the Women's Center, Office of LGBT Life, etc).
  • Assesses and recommends resources (funding, staff, space, technology, etc) needed to support the activities and programs.
  • Produces and maintains a variety of diversity educational resources including a website and a social media presence.
  • Creates external partnerships to support campus needs and student interests. Participates in selected evening and weekend programming that support the mission of the office.
  • Serves as Oxford's Title IX Deputy Coordinator; manages Title IX compliance including the implementation of appropriate training for the campus community.
  • Participates in planning and implementing educational programs on issues of violence and discrimination based on gender.
  • Collaborates with other staff and departments who offer support for survivors of sexual misconduct.
  • The Deputy Title IX Deputy Coordinator will follow protocols established by Atlanta campus Title IX administrators where all incident investigations and adjudications are handled.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A master's degree in higher education administration, student personnel, counseling, or related field and two years of experience in a student affairs/higher education or related environment.
A demonstrated commitment to diversity and experience working with a variety of student populations are preferred.
A high level of visibility and interaction with students is expected.
