The Pride Alliance is part of the Division of Institutional Equity and
Diversity, which also includes the Multicultural Center, The Office for Diversity and Inclusion, and the Office of Equal Opportunity. The Pride Alliance was established in 2014 and is committed to cultivating a campus environment where people of all gender and sexual identities can thrive. It fosters the success and awareness of historically underrepresented student populations with an emphasis on gender and sexuality, including the intersection of these identities with race, ethnicity, ability, class, national origin, and citizenship. The Pride Alliance's programs and activities are developed to increase the awareness, understanding, and intersectionality of the various identities in the UNT community.

Job Description The Pride Alliance at the University of North Texas seeks a Student Services Coordinator to join our team. Reporting to the Director of the Pride Alliance, the Student Services Coordinator will have primary responsibility for the development and implementation of educational and community-building programming, oversight of all student staff, and serve as a resource for students' academic, identity and personal development, and social needs.

Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

Campus Education
* Develop and maintain information, reference, and resource
materials on gender and sexuality topics for current and prospective
students, faculty, and staff
* Provide counsel, advice, and consultative feedback to
individuals/groups about gender identity and sexuality
* Assist in the development and facilitation of trainings and
presentations on:
* Gender and Sexuality
* Identity Development
* Power, Privilege, and Oppression
* Social Justice
* Identity Development

Engagement
* Coordinate educational and awareness-raising programs and
initiatives from design to implementation for the campus community
* Work closely with student organizations, academic departments
and other campus units, such as the Multicultural Center and Women's and Gender Studies, to create
collaborative programming
* Demonstrate a commitment to understanding intersections of
identity and incorporate these intersections into programs and
services
* Assist and serve as an advisor/chaperone for after hours and
weekend activities on and off campus; may include driving a
University vehicle

Student Success and Leadership Development
* Coordinate the Pride Alliance's involvement in First Year and
Transfer Orientation
* Assist queer and trans students in fostering a strong sense of self, strengthening
their communities, and building alliances with other departments
and campus entities
* Provide leadership training and development for designated
students and student organizations
* Provide drop-in assistance for students and other constituents in
the Pride Alliance
* Work with campus partners to support students in crisis

Administrative Functions

Assessment
*Develop and maintain assessment tools and data relative to the
work and goals of the position that measure the impact of programs
and services
* Assist in the completion of the Campus Pride Index

Supervision of Student Assistants
* Provide direction and supervise assigned student employees in
programming and office support
* Assist in training of student staff and evaluations of returning
student staff
* Assign and monitor student work hours and production
* Conduct student assistant staff meetings and 1:1 meetings

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Master's Degree in related field and two years of student services, student affairs, counseling, advising, or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education,
training and experience.

* Excellent public speaking skills with experience in conducting training workshops.
* Ability to provide leadership and mentoring to student populations.
* Experience in networking across departments and programs.
* Demonstrated commitment to diversity.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multiple projects.
* Excellent verbal and written communication, and computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Master's Degree in Student Affairs/HigherEd, Counseling, Social Work, Women's and Gender Studies, LGBT Studies, or Related Field
* 1-3 years post-graduate experience within Higher Education
* Experience in student supervision, training facilitation, and event planning from conception to implementation
* Thorough knowledge of the intersections of multiple systems of oppression including but not limited to racism, heterosexism, cissexism, ableism, classism, etc.

Thorough knowledge of/ability to quickly learn:
* Knowledge of UNT policies, state and federal laws relevant to the
programs and services provided by the Pride Alliance
* University policies and procedures related to diversity and
Inclusion
* State and nationwide trends regarding enrollment, attrition,
retention, and graduation rates of queer and trans students
