Annual Center Awareness Day WebinarThe Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals honors and observes LGBTQ+ Center Awareness Day by hosting a webinar on some of the most pressing topics facing the work of queer and transgender resource professionals. While many of our regular webinars throughout the year cover topics that are of most concern to our membership, the Center Awareness Day webinar is meant to be attended by any and all stakeholders, and those in decision-making roles impacting queer and trans resource work on a campus are highly encouraged to attend in particular.
2026 Center Awareness Day Webinar - "QT Resource Centers as the Blueprint: How Queer and Trans Resource Centers are Foundations for Radical Hope"Monday, October 19th on Zoom9-10:30am PT / 10-11:30am MT / 11am-12:30pm CT / 12-1:30pm ETOver the past several years, our Center Awareness Day webinars have invited our community into conversations that respond to the evolving realities facing Queer and Trans (QT) resource centers and the professionals who sustain them. As colleges and universities continue to navigate increasingly hostile political landscapes and institutional climates, we acknowledge the weight of our sociopolitical realities. And yet, by no other choice than our sustained collective commitment to one another, we choose hope. This year’s Center Awareness Day webinar, QT Resource Centers as the Blueprint: How Queer and Trans Resource Centers are Foundations for Radical Hope, honors the histories, legacies, and enduring impact of queer and trans resource centers. QT resource center work has always extended beyond the physical space of the center itself, shaping the work of faculty, staff, administrators, and students across higher education. Through this context, we view QT resource centers as a beacon of hope and a blueprint for higher education stakeholders to build more affirming, relational, and liberatory spaces. Inspired by our colleagues Kaity Prieto, Nick Daily, and Kristopher Oliveira’s latest book, Championing Queer and Trans Inclusion Beyond the Campus Resource Center, we invite participants to explore what it means to view QT resource centers as the blueprint for institutional transformation and student support. Together, we will reflect on how the knowledge, relationships, and practices developed within these spaces continue to inform campus climate and culture, build coalitions, and create conditions where queer and trans communities can thrive. As we continue to face QT center closures, restructuring, and renaming, we remain steadfast in our commitment to this work, recognizing that while the structures may evolve, our collective responsibility to each other remains. As always, Center Awareness Day is free for Consortium members. For all non-members, we are asking for a $15 registration. For screening permissions we are offering $30 for individual screening and $50 for institutional screening permissions.
