Executive Board and Regional Representative Nominations & Elections (2021)

Members with current, active membership in the Consortium for Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals are invited to run for an Executive Board or Regional Representative position. Candidate Expectations

Service on the Executive Board or as a Regional Representative for the Consortium does require a commitment of your time and energy. All candidates need to center and deeply engage in a racial justice framework and show a commitment to combating anti-Blackness in their work and themselves.


The minimum structured time commitment for Executive Board members, as is noted in our Consortium Guiding Document: Board Structure, will include:

  • One winter retreat (date(s) to be announced at the culmination of elections)

  • One 3-4 day summer retreat

  • Two monthly 2-hour Executive Board meetings

  • Time commitments for positions are as follows:

    • Coordinators: 5-10 hours per week

    • Collectives: 3-5 hours per week


The minimum structured time commitment for Regional Representatives will include:

  • One monthly 1-hour meeting with Regional Representatives and the Membership Engagement Collective

  • One monthly check-in with Co-Representative(s)

  • Time commitment for Regional Representatives is 1-3 hours per week


Note: These time commitments are based on previous Executive Board member and Regional Representative experiences. Time needed to successfully complete duties may vary based on a number of factors.

  • One (1) External Coordinator - SPECIAL ELECTION: Term ends January 2023

  • One (1) Internal Coordinator - Term ends January 2025

  • Two (2) Membership Engagement Collective - Term ends January 2025

  • Two (2) Organizational Operations Collective - Term ends January 2025


The open Regional Representatives positions for this elections cycle are:

  • One (1) Red Region Regional Representative - Term ends January 2023

  • One (1) Orange Region Regional Representative - Term ends January 2023

  • Two (2) Yellow Region Regional Representative - Term ends January 2023

  • One (1) Green Region Regional Representative - Term ends January 2023

  • One (1) Blue Region Regional Representative - Term ends January 2023

  • One (1) Purple Region Regional Representative - Term ends January 2023

  • One (1) Pink Region Regional Representative - Term ends January 2023


Elections Timeline

The timeline for this elections cycle is as follows:

  • October 19: Nominations and Applications open

  • November 9: Nominations Close

  • November 13: Applications Close

  • November 16: Ballot opens for voting

  • December 4: Ballot closes
