Title:
LGBTQ+ college students lived experiences uncovering supports amid the COVID-19 pandemic: A photo elicitation and interpretative phenomenological study.

Overview:
The recent pandemic led to the closing of many college and university campuses, displacing students who lived on campus and requiring a shift to remote learning. These changes limited the availability and access to support resources for all students and may have disproportionately impacted LGBTQ+ college students. The goal of this qualitative study is to identify and explore the impact remote learning had on LGTBQ+ college students as they sought and used personal and academic supports during the pandemic of 2020/2021in the greater Boston area. Using photo elicitation and interpretive phenomenological analysis this study will capture and illustrate the lived experience of LGBTQ+ college student using visual, written, and verbal accounts of their participants lives.

• The goal of this qualitative study is to identify and explore the impact remote learning had on LGTBQ+ college students as they sought and used personal and academic supports during the pandemic of 2020/2021in the greater Boston area.
• 3 phases: 1) Capture photographs of your experiences, 2) Write reflections on those photographs and experiences, 3) Engage in 90 -120 mins in-depth interviews about your lived experiences

Eligibility:
• Age 18 – 25 and identify in the LGBTQ+ community in the greater Boston area
• Undergraduate that has experienced both face-to-face and remote learning
• Ability to participate via zoom or telephone
• Have access to digital or cell phone camera

Timeline for Participants
Phase 1 (2 weeks)
• Photo elicitation training (Pre-recorded)
• Photo elicitation images captured
Phase 2 (2 weeks)
• Participant individual meetings
• Image description/reflection
Phase 3
• 90 – 120 min interviews
