Job Title: Business Officer
Reporting Office: Office of the Registrar

This full-time, 12-month position is located within the Office of the Registrar. This is an administrative professional position that reports directly to the Director/University Registrar. This position serves as the primary fiscal/budget officer for the Office of the Registrar by advising and assisting the Director in all matters related to fiscal management. It provides oversight, both strategic and managerial, of the financial and budgetary practices of the Office, which requires full knowledge of University and State policies and procedures. As the HR Liaison, this position is the departmental resource for payroll, time clock, benefits, sick and annual leave, parental leave, FMLA, workers’ compensation, searches, promotions, and all other policies and procedures related to human resources. This position requires a strong working knowledge of the Kuali Financial System, Oracle, Banner, and the Talent Management System.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in specific field (e.g. computer science, computer information systems, business administration) or a related field associated with the duties of the position
• Three years of professional experience including accounting, budgeting and/or human resources experience
• Two years of supervisory experience (will consider supervision of student staff)
• Demonstrated experience working with data, including conducting data queries and performing analyses

Preferred Qualifications
• Personal or professional commitment to diversity and inclusion as demonstrated by persistent effort, active planning, allocation of resources and/or accountability for diversity and inclusion outcome
• Master’s degree in business, human resources or related field
• Human resources credential, such as PHR/SPHR, or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP
• 3+ years of administrative-level university budgeting experience
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and to exercise initiative
• Demonstrated ability to foster productive relationships across departments in a large organization
• Excellent customer service skills, including but not limited to working with Human Resources and the Office of Equal Opportunity
• Demonstrated experience with Kuali Financial System, including business, financial, and budgeting functions
• Demonstrated experience with Oracle human resources system
• Demonstrated experience with financial reporting systems such as: Vista Reports, eThority, ODS, Web Focus, Excel and Access
• Knowledge of University and State financial policies, and a strong understanding of the Land Grand Mission of Colorado State University
