The Office of Equity and Inclusivity at Dickinson College seeks a Director for the Office of LGBTQ Services. The position is responsible for strategic leadership and direction associated with LGBTQ+ services and support. The Office of LGBTQ Services is responsible for the coordination of programs, educational trainings, and advocacy for members of the community who identify as LGBTQ+, as well as training and development for allies.

Primary responsibilities include:
  • • Create and deliver campus-wide educational training opportunities on topics related to allyship,
  • sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and their intersection with other social identities.
  • • Design, implement, and assess educational, cultural, and social programs to address the needs of Dickinson's LGBTQ+ community and to increase community engagement in LGBTQ+ initiatives.
  • • Lead community-building and outreach activities to support a safe and welcoming environment for LGBTQ+ students, staff and faculty.
  • • Develop and implement a strategy to address the changing needs of the LGBTQ+ community, and participate in campus-wide equity and inclusivity strategic planning.
  • • Supervise a team of student Pride Coordinators, who assist with essential functions related to the Office of LGBTQ Services.
  • • Candidates with the appropriate education and experience will be expected to teach in the Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies Department.
3-5 years of experience in the field is required. A Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Counseling, Gender/Queer Studies or another relevant field is required, but a Ph.D. is preferred. The Director reports to the Executive Director of the Office of Equity and Inclusivity.
