The award-winning UNF LGBT Resource Center was founded in 2006 to provide education and resources for the campus community with a commitment to advocacy, equity, respect and support for LGBT students, faculty, and staff. A beloved resource at UNF and in Jacksonville, the Center is a respected partner for education and support programs, strategic initiatives, and consultation at UNF and within the fields of higher education, student services, and LGBT initiatives.

The LGBT Resource Center is guided by an intersectional framework that takes into consideration the systems of power and oppression that impact equitable participation in higher education and co-curricular activities. The Center acknowledges the complexities and intersections of sexuality, race, gender, ability, age, socioeconomic status, and other identities. In partnership with campus departments, the Center helps ensure that equity, diversity, and inclusion are advanced and widely supported.

This position is a Master's Level or higher position requiring 6-8 years of direct experience.

The director of the LGBT Resource Center will:

Oversee development and supervision of the Center’s academic and co-curricular partnerships and programs, including graduate-level practicum students, undergraduate and graduate interns, community based learning, and transformational learning opportunities.

Develop and implement fundraising strategies, donor cultivation, and stewardship plans in collaboration with Director of Development. Initiate outreach activities to both internal and external constituencies, maintain relations with granting agencies and donors, and work with UNF administration at all levels in these efforts.

Manage major gifts, endowments, and grants including project proposals, grant applications, gift cultivation, and fund oversight

Ensure the Center maintains a meaningful and active role in relevant regional, state, and national professional organizations and topic areas.

Serve as a representative and spokesperson for UNF and the Center, including topically relevant news interviews and community engagements.
