ABOUT POMONA COLLEGE: Located near Los Angeles, California, Pomona College is widely regarded as one of the nation's premier liberal arts colleges. POSITION SUMMARY: The Interim Assistant Director, QRC offers services to a population of LGBTQ+ undergraduate and graduate students at The Claremont Colleges with social support needs through targeted support, group programs, intervention, referrals, and connections to resources and services at The Claremont Colleges and in the community. The Interim Assistant Director is responsible for assisting with the oversight of Graduate Assistants and Student Associates with regard to implementation of programs and events for the Claremont Colleges. The Interim Assistant Director is the liaison between the seven campuses to provide outreach events, student support programs, and continue to grow and foster connections between students and organizations across The Claremont Colleges.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in the areas of Higher Education/Student Affairs, Gay and Lesbian Studies, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Counseling or discipline related to the work of the Queer Resource Center is required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree in these areas preferred. A valid driver’s license is required or equivalent means of reliable transportation to off-site meetings and events. A minimum of 1 year of post-baccalaureate student development experience working with the LGBTQQIAA community at a major academic institution preferred. Demonstrated interest in and experience working with college students, including diverse and/or underrepresented college student populations.

ADDITIONAL POSITION DETAILS: Temporary, full-time, exempt position through May 31, 2020. Starting pay rate: $4,894.67 per month.

REQUIRED HOURS: The regular hours for this full time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. Weekend and evening work hours will be required. Travel may be required. Regular hours may vary due to needs of the College or division.
