Job Description Summary
The LGBT Center Associate Director is an integral part of the Center’s intersectional and social justice focused leadership team, they: work directly with undergraduate, graduate, and professional students one-on-one; advise numerous student organizations; plan, execute, and evaluate programs and activities in collaboration with students and campus partners; manage aspects of the Center's website, social media, and technology; assist Director in resource creation and dissemination; supervise the part-time Building Coordinator; and build and maintain relationships with community organizations.



Responsibilities:

**Advising - directly advise at least half of the Center affiliated student groups; guide students one-on-one via the Center’s open-door policy; Function as an immediate resource for students who may be experiencing issues due to a sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression concern, whether actual or perceived; know about and provide proper referrals on and off campus.
**Program Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation - Assist with student programming, funding, and travel; facilitate and/or run signature Center programs; collaborate with other campus centers and departments; work with community partners; collect and analyze data for the Center and evaluate initiatives; create targeted programming to reach under-served communities.
**Represent and Promote the Center – serve on select campus committees; attend resource fairs; create and nurture collaborations and information sharing both on and off campus.
**Supervise Building Coordinator
**Office and other duties as assigned

Qualifications:


**Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree strongly preferred in a related area such as education, counseling, social work, gender studies
**Two to three years experience working with the LGBTQ+ community, preferably in a campus setting
**Demonstrated understanding of the complex issues surrounding LGBTQ+ communities, intersectionality, and college- and graduate student-age populations
**Program creation, implementation, and evaluation and data analysis skills
**Student group and individual advising experience
**Ability to work collaboratively and as a self-starter
**Strong oral, written, and technological skills
**Position requires some evening and possibly weekend work
